There was no clear passage of time. If Melenia had to guess she would think it had been a month, but it could of been more- or less. After being captured and sold into the slave trade she had lost connection with the world. At first she fought against the people who called them her masters. She would bite, kick, hit, anything to get them away from her. But they where stronger then her and would restrain her. She was only ever hit once by one of the men, but then the leader of the Slavers pretty much beat the man near to death and told no one to lay a hand upon Melenia again in that matter.
At first Melenia was confused and didn't understand why he would help her to not be hurt, but she was instantly disgusted when she realized it was only so that no one damaged the merchandise. They even let her keep her pearls on because of how appealing it made her look.
Escape never went the way she planned. She always got caught and soon she had to put up with being locked away with her arms tired behind her back. That was the worse. They left her for days. No food, no water. The food she didn't worry about but her Nymph nature NEEDED water to survive. The Slavers soon figured out she was no normal Elf and that just drove her price up.
They didn't plan to sell her until getting to a big trading market. Sadly for Melenia they where now there. Melenia saw what she could through the crack in the wooden carriage of the beautiful city. Any other time she would of been glad to see it. But by now her spirit was broken. They kept her on very low water, probably so she didn't strike out and try and escape.
It was still dim outside as the day had only just begun. Once the carriage stopped she could hear them building outside. She had seen this in other cities where the Slavers sold people like cattle. The Slavers would build a sort of small stage to stand the Slave on so those around would be able to see them. Melenia had watched the other slaved get sold off every time, and it made her sick to her stomach every time.
Once the stage had been constructed and people started to fill the market the Slavers lead out the slaves one by one. Melenia was shocked when she was grabbed and pushed out into line. Each slave had a rope tied around their neck to keep them from running. Melenia had seen once a man try and run- and the Slavers just yanked him back too hard and Melenia heard his neck snap before he hit the ground.
Melenia hung her head as the Slavers sold a few people first. Once the crowd got big enough she was pulled onto the stage. The rope around her neck was attached to a pole next to her so she couldn't get off the stage without strangling herself. Melenia lifted her head a little to looks off the edge of the stage. It would be a lie if she didn't think about jumping off.. just to end it. After all she was nothing more then a slave now. She would be sold as either a Sex Slave or to work hard labor for the rest of her life.
"And now we have our FINEST lady today!" Shouted the Slaver to the crowd as he stepped onto the stage with her. He took hold of her face and lifted it up to show the crowd. Melenia shook her head free before kicking the Slaver int he knee to try and knock him off. Sadly she was too weak and it didn't even make him wobble. Instead he laughed. "Shes got spunk!" He lent closer to Melenia's ear and hissed, "behave or you'll wish you never born." Melenia already wished that. She let the man tilt her face up to the crowd again and listened as he started listing off things she would be good for. Her eyes where blank. She was bonier then before she was captured and her cheeks where hollowed a little as well as black rings under her eyes. her pearly pink skin was almost white...
"Now i hear you say, pretty face Yes?? Well that's not all. This is no normal pure blood Elf. She is blessed with being Half Nymph, Half Elf!" The crowd instantly filled with chatter. It was completely unheard of, and the Slavers new some of the customers here today would buy such a slave just as a show piece at parties. Just to have the ability to say 'oh yes i have a Nymph Elf slave you know?'
"Prove it!" Shouted a person from the crowd. The Slaver grinned. He had planned for this and now would show the crowd that she really was a nymph. He jumped down and picked up a bucket of water before jumping back onto the stage. The slaver held up the bucket and in one movement drenched Melenia completely.
Melenia gasped, half because it was cold, but the other half because she was so in need of the water. She seemed to instantly pick up colour in her skin and her body became as healthy looking as it did before... but the damage had been done. Melenia's expression still held that of a broken soul. The crowd however reacted just how the slavers wanted them to. They began shouting bids and waving their arms in the air. Melenia assumed that fact that also now her clothes where stuck to her body and showing off her figure probably helped the bidding. She stumbled a little down onto her knees- the Slaver too busy taking bids to notice. She wanted to rest... She couldn't even kneel without the rope around her neck pulling her head up and making it hard for her to breath with the pressure on her windpipe.
The fact they starved her of water, to only give her such a little amount... it made her feel even more agony. She closed her eyes but couldn't close her eyes to the noise of everyone around her.
Nothing more...
Nothing more...

The city of Nobaltica had a swollen upper class. The overgrown trade district ensured that there was always someone on top. With the city possessing an upper class deep in the lap of luxury others made their fortune ensuring that they were waited on at every moment. The city was not was above the idea of slavery, and many of the upper class owned personal entourages of servants made to ensure that they would never have to lift a finger to take care of their home, family or their own needs. So when the midday bell rang, the attentions of the market district came to the slave markets ready to snap up the latest crop brought in from the corrupt corners of the world. Those doomed to menial labor were elsewhere, usually the various quarry's, mines and fieldsthat they would work themselves to death in. It was the more profitable slaves that would be on display today, skimmed off the top and presented at in the center of Nobaltica. The wealthy were always quick to snap them up, looking to show off some exotic beauty as if it was something to be purchased for their home as if it was some form of furniture. It was a lucrative business for the city, and when there was money to be made the blood in the water would always draw the red hand.
That was why their matron was always at the markets. Saeryn would rarely taken an interested in the pathetic morsels that caught the attention of the more usual rabble. Saeryn's garb reflected how this was business as usual to her, her gown was less elegant then her usual attire that seemed to try and invoke shock and awe. It was something that was well made, but at the same time the matron was willing to wear out into the streets. The less preferable slaves that were usually here to fatten out the numbers, milk some coin from the middle class, and to make their other wares look special. The mutated elf's form made her tower above the crowd. She hovered around the edge of the crowd, only watching idly as they sold off another weeping girl to some lecherous new owner. Saeryn was here to make sure that she got her share for every coin that was collect here today. She came to a tented area where tables had been set up in order to provide an area for the new purchases to be paid for. Saeryn's 6 eyes scanned over the coin covered tables, practically being able to pick out her share from the gold littered on the table.
When she looked back the a man stood before her, just coming through the curtains of the partition. He would have been tall compared to any other humanoid, but even he was towered over by Saeryn. His thin blade of a head was completely bald, close shaven rather then naturally, he had a soft smirk with him. His deep red cloak was covered in exotic furs and his hand was full of golden rings inlaid with jewels, it was obvious by his appearance alone. He greeted Saeryn with a slight bow, "Miss Larontir, lovely as always. I have some new servants that you might be interested in I..." Saeryn crossed her arms over her chest, her impatient fingers drumming as she spoke, "I'm not here to purchase your wares Yeltsen, you know what I am here for." He seemed to recoil from the sudden snap, only drawling the comparisons that this man was a vulture wearing human flesh. He only nodded, "Of course, right this way. I have your payments already set aside."
Saeryn once again emerged into the heat of the midday sun, something seemed to have had the rabble in turmoil. That was whens he heard the words "Half Nymph, Half Elf!" This was something that even caught the attention of Saeryn, the slave on the stage catching her gaze. She wouldn't have recognized the girl from the tavern over a month ago if it wasn't for the water suddenly restoring her. Saeryn immediately recognized the little elf thief she last saw being hauled off to spend the next few nights in a jail cell. The mythical culprit never was found, and Saeryn had made her way back to her manor in Nobaltica before her sentence was up. Maybe her instincts were right, it wouldn't be the first pickpocket that wound end up in the slave markets. Saeryn only watched as she struggled, trying to weakly strike the auctioneer before struggling against her bonds.
Saeryn stopped in her tracks as she watched the savage display, the men rabidly bidding on her as many of them laughed at the show she put on. Saeryn should have been jaded to this, her manor was staffed by dozens of servants and all of them had been purchased from markets and auctions like this. But watching as the girl ceased her struggles, only closing her eyes as she listened to the price on her head rapidly growing from the customers practically drooling over the girl. Saeryn only watched for a moment, something seemed to grab hold of her and she couldn't pull herself away. The woman infamous for her cruelty actually took pity on the girl.
"I want her."
Saeryn calling out into the auction drew some stares. There was a brief pause to the bidding Saeryn's presence having an impact, several of the customers knew that they wouldn't be able to compete with her spending power. Yeltsen even seemed shocked that she would suddenly throw herself into the ring. He let out a timid laugh, "Did I not say that I would have something to get you interested? But Miss Larontir, not even you can simply come in here demanding whatever you please, especially when she's up for auction." Though his sheepishness seemed to fade the second that Saeryn was willing to spend money.
Saeryn turned to him, a smile on her face, Yeltsen may have something that she wanted but Saeryn wasn't going to give him leverage over the deal. "I tend to enjoy something with more certainty to it." Her 6 eyes bored into him, she already knew that she was twisting Yeltsin's arm, "Give her the girl, and I'll see it to that for the next month, you'll work here in Nobaltica for absolutely free." Yeltsin might be a corrupt degenerate, but he had a horrible poker face and the offer dangled to him already ensured that he was in Saeryn's grasp. Numbers visibly ran through his head, it didn't take much to tell that by giving this one girl away he would dramatically increase the profit off of each and every sale today. He could make the money off of one day of sales alone, nonetheless a month. Saeryn waved him off, "Be good and have her delivered to me and I'll let you keep today's payment as well. Make sure she's presentable." Yeltsin immediately waddled into the crowd, waving to the auctioneer that the sale was off. Sheer greed allowed for him to brave the crowd quick to voice it's displeasure of having such an interesting buy yanked off of the market so suddenly. Saeryn turned around, already skittering towards her carriage by the time that he was shouting that the Nymph was no longer for sale.

"I want her."
The voice rang out and Melenia had enough strength to open her eyes just a little amount. She had to wait for the shapeless blur to come into focus but when saw the Monster from among the crowd she felt her anger build in her chest. The water the puddles around her ripped unnaturally. That bitch spider woman! Melenia remembered her sending her off for the jail. Although when her guards too her too the slave trade she didn't doubt in her mind this was all that Spider Woman's doing! She tugged a little at the rope around her neck as if she wanted to brake free and smack that eight legged thing around the face. Although Melenia knew full well she wouldn't even be able to get close enough to attack the woman, it didn't stop her feeling that way.
She was so focused on fantasying on this she didn't realize she was already being taken off the stage. She tried to keep her eyes on that woman but was take forcefully off the stage and to the back where there was a tent. Inside she saw other slaves that had been sold. Some of them where just getting new clothes just to make themselves look nice for their new owners. Melenia wasn't just sold to any old slaver though. Saeryn was an important person in this trade! So Melenia herself was given the highest treatment.
She was taken behind a screen and instantly stripped of her wet clothes to be dried and dressed again in simple silk dress. It was expensive fabric but nothing to the standers that someone like Saeryn would wear. After all they had to dress Melenia good enough to not be an embarrassment but also not to upstage her new owner. After being dressed they worked on her hair, after it not being brushed for almost a month this was the most painful part for Melenia.
It was hard for Melenia to take all this in. It was happening all so fast. She chocked a little on the perfumer sprayed at her. It smelt of lavender and was too sickly for her taste, but they couldn't take the time to bath each slave- after all their owners are waiting for them to be given over.
When the Slaver who had been selling her came into the back to check how much longer they would take prettying up Melenia, he saw her at her former beauty. He smugly moved over to Melenia and took her arm in his to lead her out. Melenia had other plans. She was strong now from the little water they gave her and she snatched her arm out of his grip. There was a few seconds of death glares from the two before Melenia pushed past him and walked out.
With the Slaver following behind her she walked out into the crowd. She knew she couldn't run, but she would not disgrace herself by kicking and screaming to her fate. She stopped only once to be pointed where to go, then moved towards the carriage. That is when once again she came to stand in front of the Spider Lady. Melenia clenched her jaw as looked up at Saeryn. She didn't attempt to hide her anger. What would of been the point? She felt a jab in her back, as if the slaver was telling her off for being rude.
Melenia so badly wanted to say something to the Spider Lady, but nothing came to her mind. She wanted to lash out but she would need a good soak before she felt enough strength to even try. And even then she wouldn't have enough courage. I mean LOOK at that thing!! It could probably impale Melenia on one of her legs without even thinking about it. Melenia couldn't help but find that someone ironic, a spider for once stepping on man rather then the other way around. She looked at the six eyed before taking a deep breath. "Someone steal something from you again and you need someone to blame?-" She spat bitterly. She got another jab to the back that made her stumble forwards a little and a stab of pain over her face, but she straightened herself before continuing. "-Madam." If anyone could stick as much sarcastic to that one word then Melenia would of won a golden cup. What did she have to lose?... Spider lady will probably just kill her off anyway...

Saeryn waited at her carriage, her front right leg tapped impatiently on the cobblestone pavement. It was taking quite awhile for her purchase to be delivered, but that could also mean that they were doing some work to undo the damage they have done since Saeryn last saw the girl. After what seemed like an eternity the girl was trotted out. She had definitely improved, no wet dress to dampen the inside of Saeryn's carriage, and their hair dresser was half competent. When she stepped before Saeryn she actually snapped, it seems that her being bought suddenly reignited some of the fire that was almost extinguished. "Someone steal something from you again and you need someone to blame... Madam." Saeryn took notice that she had been jabbed in the back, she leaned over the elf's shoulder to look at the man behind her. "You damage it... you buy it. We're done here, you can tell Yeltsin that our transaction is complete." He looked from Saeryn to the girl. As if he half expected the little thing to try and sink her teeth into Saeryn without his presence. "Yes ma'am, right away ma'am." He walked off.
Saeryn watched him walk away for a moment before paying attention to the girl before her. "That little temper of yours is cute, but you should be thanking me." She crossed her arms, Saeryn's voice was full of conviction, speaking like the professional that she was. "If I wanted to turn you into a slave I could have had it done much cheaper and and had you much quicker. Your situation was quite the misfortune, nothing more." She put her hand on the elf's shoulder, gently spinning her around to look at the crowd while she leaned down to speak over the girl's shoulder. Her speech was the exact opposite of her wrathful tone in the tavern. It was more gentle, at least for the harsh woman. It almost sounded like Saeryn was trying to show some sympathy, a rather foreign emotions to her,"Look at all of them and tell me that I'm the worst thing that could possibly happen to you." Saeryn stepped alongside of her.
She was actually beginning to open up, this was strange territory for the normally cold woman, "I took pity on you and saved you from all of those possible fates. Try and remember that." She turned back around, skittering towards her carriage. A thought seemed to cross her mind before she gestured towards the bench opposite of the seat obviously made to accommodate her. "Get in, I'll spare you the walk to my home." She cursed herself she would have to make this generosity not become a habit.

When she lent over Melenia to scold the slaver, Melenia herself couldn't help but flinch a little. "You damage it... you buy it. We're done here, you can tell Yeltsin that our transaction is complete."
Melenia knew what was going to happen. This woman spider thing was going to eat her or something! Why else would she buy her? Last time they met she very clearly said she was going to kill Melenia if she was found guilty. Melenia assumed that Saeryn had already made the choice she was guilty and that was why her guards sold her off as a slave. She glanced over her shoulder also to watch the man walk off. When she looked forwards once again she was met with Saeryn's gaze.
"That little temper of yours is cute, but you should be thanking me." Melenia's eyes narrowed a little. Thanking her??! She opened her mouth a little as if to shout at her but didn't know what to say. What do you say? Half of her brain was like ' What the hell? She's gunna kill us anyway. Might as well go out with a fight yes?' Although her other half was very strongly against this and wanted to preserve itself without spider bites in her neck or however Saeryn killed her pray.
"If I wanted to turn you into a slave I could have had it done much cheaper and and had you much quicker. Your situation was quite the misfortune, nothing more."
Again Melenia was about to protest. "Y-You-!" But she was turned around before she could finished. She still flinched when Saeryn put her hand on her shoulder. But when Saeryn spoke into her ear it was not as threatening as before... This confused Melenia and she glanced side ways at Saeryn before looking over the crowd.
"Look at all of them and tell me that I'm the worst thing that could possibly happen to you." She was somewhat right. Ever since she heard the phrase she had feared she'd be face to 'face' with some mans old hairy sausage. She couldn't have dealt with that. She would rather die... Maybe this was the lesser punishment. To be killed by a Spider Lady or ravaged by men. "As long as you don't rape me i think ill be fine." She mumbled to herself. She didn't say it too loud in case Saryn didn't take well to her sarcastic snappy tone. When she came to stand alongside her Melenia looked up at her. Melenia was a tall woman standing at 5ft and 10in, she didn't even come close to Saeryn's height, and she would guess she could reach even higher if she wished to.
"I took pity on you and saved you from all of those possible fates. Try and remember that."
Melenia stood there for a minute as Saeryn climbed aboard her carriage. She still had her back to it looking at the crowd. She felt such frustration crawling at her chest. Why had this happened to her. What had she done to upset the water goddess?? Was it because she was half elf that she had turned her watchful gaze away from her?
"Get in, I'll spare you the walk to my home."
From behind Melenia could be seen moving her hand to her face and quickly rub her eyes. She refused to let the tears fall. Not now. Not with all these people to see. Not for that SpiderWoman to see. She bit her lip to stop it trembling before taking in a deep breath. Why had everyone abandoned her... Where was her Father? He never came back for her. She knew he was a highly trained tracker so there was no reason as to why he should of not found her by now. Why did he leave her...
Melenia took a deep breath and pushed the waves of tears skimming on her eyes. She knew Saeryn wouldn't wait forever and she turned and climbs inside. She was extra careful not to step on anything, even the hem of Saeryn's dress. She would rather at least get somewhere else before she is mascaraed. She sat down and couldn't help but look around a little. It was the first time she'd been in a carriage of such finery. Although when she looked at Saeryn her eyes still sparkled a little from the tears locked behind them. You had to give it to Melenia. She never looked through Saeryn or avoided her gaze. She looked her right in the eyes. She had no fear of looking at anyone, where as others would have glanced then looked away in fear or distaste. No, Melenia looked right at the people who she had as company.
"... Are you going to Kill me?" She didn't say it with fear, just spoke as if it was any normal question. Like ' is the sky blue?' kind of question. Simple and to the point. The she quickly added. "Because i didn't take your stupid box." She put her fists into her lap- trying hard to keep her emotions in check but her voice was failing her- it cracked a little. "I admit i put it in my bag... but it was put among my things." Melenia had been holding in her anger for so long towards this woman... she had to say it or it would just build and build. "And-... And you are a complete dishonest woman to send me off to the slave trade like that! I was willing to spend the few days in jail if it proved my innocents but nooo YOU sent me off to some fucking slaver to be sold like a piece of meat!" Her voice was full of anger and the tears started again.
Melenia was panting by the time she finished and she frustratingly wiped her eyes with her back of her hand. She realized that this probably angered Saeryn a lot... and she lowered her head somewhat as if waiting for the blow. Her few tears slid down her cheek and dipped off, but they seemed to hoover in the air below her chin before dropping like normal. It was as if the gravity for that few seconds of each droplet disappeared. It was true that water acted very strange around her.

Saeryn watched as the girl paused before entering the carriage. She almost threatened to put a collar around her neck before she seemed to snap out of the trance and enter the carriage. There was an awkward pause as the doors were shut and the team of horses began to draw the oversize carriage. Saeryn was about to speak before the girl cut her off.
"... Are you going to Kill me? Because i didn't take your stupid box. I admit i put it in my bag... but it was put among my things And-... And you are a complete dishonest woman to send me off to the slave trade like that! I was willing to spend the few days in jail if it proved my innocents but nooo YOU sent me off to some fucking slaver to be sold like a piece of meat!"
Saeryn... she actually laughed when the girl snapped. Most servants that she had chosen were terrified but rarely angry with Saeryn herself. How many times had she heard the poor girls begging to not be dragging into the home of such a terrifying monster. Rather the elf was more angry over the deception, believing what Saeryn could assure was a horrific experience, and their meeting was something calculated by the house matron. Saeryn slid off her gloves, "Killing you? Shedding your blood here would be such a waste. Always so difficult to clean the blood out of these." It was a tad difficult to tell, but Saeryn was using humor, it was rusty as best. She brought her hand to the elf's chin, not to strike her but actually cup her chin, "Maybe you don't understand. If this is what I have wanted, I would have orchestrated quite the coincidence, and I wouldn't have given those rubes bid on you." She tilted her head a she lectured the girl, trying to calm her down and make her see some common sense. Though her expression said otherwise it was difficult for anyone to not find malice in the 6 red eyes. "Maybe you forget but you did help my servant that night. I may own her, but I care for my possessions."
She released the girl glancing outside of the glass windows to see the crowds parting for the carriage, "That is why even if you did steal my signet, I charged you with petty thievery, not stealing from me." There were multiple stories in Nobalitica attesting to the brutal treatment of those who didn't defy the laws of the land, but Saeryn's own laws. There were multiple accounts of the red hand taking the fingers of hands of would be thieves, drunkards in taverns always embellish their stories with such takes as Saeryn keeps them as trophies in a room decorated all the trophies of those who defied her.
Saeryn turned back to the elf, "Think for just a second. Why do you think I went through the expense of making you remained in my hands?" She leaned forward, wanting the girl to put together the pieces herself to ensure that she would get the point. Maybe that would help calm her little temper, "I never heard your name, and since we're going to spending quite a bit of time together a proper introduction is due. I am Saeryn. But you shall be addressing me as Miss Larontir."

"Killing you? Shedding your blood here would be such a waste. Always so difficult to clean the blood out of these."
It might of been humorous to Saeryn but the thought of her death and blood spilling out everywhere was not a funny matter to Melenia. She was pouting a little as glaring somewhat at Saeryn, but when she reached out to take Melenia's chin, she couldnt help but flinch a little. She thought she was going to grab her around the neck or something. It was clear she a scared of the situation she was in, but her temper over powered it and showed thought the most.
"Maybe you don't understand. If this is what I have wanted, I would have orchestrated quite the coincidence, and I wouldn't have given those rubes bid on you."
Melenia couldn't help but feel her cheeks redden a little as Saeryn tilted her head as if examining her face. Melenia wasn't use to people looking at her like that. Sure she has a face that would turn heads- but she was very blind to it. And now that Saeryn was examining her with all her six eyes, Melenia couldn't help but feel embarrassed. She had to glance away so not to look at her, the eyes being way to invasive.
"Maybe you forget but you did help my servant that night. I may own her, but I care for my possessions."
Melenia rubbed her face a little- not because Saeryn was holding her face tightly or anything- but she just felt she needed to rub it. "If you cared for her you wouldn't class her as your possession." she couldn't help it. She was still angry at her, and the fact that now she 'belonged' to this woman just fueled that anger.
"That is why even if you did steal my signet, I charged you with petty thievery, not stealing from me. Think for just a second. Why do you think I went through the expense of making you remained in my hands?"
Melenia looked at her, for once her face wasn't full of anger- but confusion. Why would she go thought the trouble of getting her? Maybe to get revenge... but surely there is no sweet revenge then letting her become a slave to a horrible person? Melenia didn't understand. She felt like this woman was teasing her, dangling riddles in front of her. Maybe Melenia was too wound up to understand the situation...
"I never heard your name, and since we're going to spending quite a bit of time together a proper introduction is due. I am Saeryn. But you shall be addressing me as Miss Larontir."
Melenia pursed her lips. She clearly didn't want to give over her name. But Saeryn was right, they would be spending a lot of time together- or more to the point Melenia cleaning her floors! Also Melenia realized that if she didn't hand her name over, she might just give her a knew name. After all she was just a belonging now. To rename a slave is nothing uncommon. "Melenia." She mumbled before glancing out the window. She watched the city go by. She had never been to a place like this before. She wished her father was here. He would know what to do. Maybe she should try to escape when night came? But if she got caught what would the punishment be?
"Why should you care what my name is... I'm just an object now." She added as she continued looking outside. Her fate was sealed and she didn't see anyway of getting out of it alive. Maybe that was the answer... that she would only get out of this if she lost her life.
The though depressed her greatly. She never thought this way before but from what she had been though the last month, it would be weird if she didn't think this way. "You don't care what happens to your Slaves. You just worry about having to waste money on a new one. You know what they do to slaves? Do you?" She looked at her, she was glaring but the was a clear spark of sadness in her eyes. "They strip you naked to assess who is worth selling at market and who is sent to the mines. And if your lucky they don't test you out before hand. But you don't care... We're just cattle to you people. You want me to be thankful?" She laughed bitterly. "I will never see my father again because of you..." Melenia wasn't trying to be rude, she was just angry and speaking her mind.
She looked out the window again. She was clearly damaged in some manner from what she had to go thought, which would explain her attitude and anger.

Saeryn only watched as Melina spoke. She didn't reply, she didn't cut him off like she was so prone to the first time that they had met. Saeryn only listened as the girl tapped into the anger and their frustration that could only be the result of the harsh treatment over the weeks. "Why should you care what my name is... I'm just an object now."She was making assumptions about Saeryn, but it was true that most owners treated them like possessions and didn't bother to keep their original names. Saeryn was an exception, but one could attribute that to the fact that she tended to be more discerning with who she took on.
Saeryn couldn't claim to know the girl, the most she saw of her was when she was trying to defend herself from Saeryn's accusations. But the look in her eye alone told Saeryn a lot about what happened, even before she described her experience. What Melina told Saeryn was nothing new to the cruel woman. She herself had plenty of experience in the slave auctions and the market potential for human trafficking. The Larontir trade house dealt with all forms of contraband, Saeryn would be lying if she claimed that none of her wealth came from the some of the same slave markets that Melina just escaped.
"They strip you naked to assess who is worth selling at market and who is sent to the mines. And if your lucky they don't test you out before hand. But you don't care... We're just cattle to you people. You want me to be thankful? I will never see my father again because of you..."
Saeryn gripped her chin once again, glaring into her with the loan sharks grin on her face. Unfortunately her habit of sparing this girl was only growing by the minute, "I never intended for you to be a slave. But your now mine, as far as Nobaltica is concerned, just like you said your my property. I understand it's quite the bizarre show of mercy to buy you, but you now represent quite a fair amount of spent coin." Something flashed across her face for a moment, the statuesque guise of the unfeeling monster seemed to change for a moment. Something flashed across her face, her instincts told her to not care for this girl. Melina had the bad luck of falling into the hands of these slavers, and it was Saeryn that pounced on her weakness. "But once that issue is settled. Then we'll talk." A chink in her armor that might be the shred of Mercy that Melina needed.

Melenia once again flinched when her chin was gripped and her face turned to be eye to eye with Saeryn. Every time Melenia looked at her she felt her heart jump about having a mini heart attack. She was terrifying to look at, not ugly per-say. Just not the norm. But then again Melenia wasn't the Norm either so where did she have room to judge? But it still scared her. She had no idea if Saeryn was being truthful and wouldn't harm her or if when they get to her home she'd be killed and eaten.
"I never intended for you to be a slave. But your now mine, as far as Nobaltica is concerned, just like you said your my property. I understand it's quite the bizarre show of mercy to buy you, but you now represent quite a fair amount of spent coin."
Melenia jerked her face out of Saeryn's hand, but only because she didn't like being held there like that. She didn't understand Saeryn's motive. It was all swirling around her head and didn't make any sense. She had not slept properly for weeks and this was just all too much for her to take in. She glanced away as if wanting to keep Saeryn from seeing the worried look in her eyes. She wanted to be seen as strong and unable to push around.
"But once that issue is settled. Then we'll talk."
Melenia was quiet. She noticed the skin on her hand which rested in her lap where pale again, which only meant she was dehydrated again. Her face was probably deathly pale again also. Her emotions and the events of the day had run her ragged. She knew if she was going to get strong again she was going to have to play the cards she had been dealt. She was going to have to be the good little slave Saeryn wanted... then maybe escape?
She let out a pained sigh as they sat in silence. it was just a little one, hardly audible, but it perfectly explained her emotional feeling as well as physical. She had been sat up with back straight and all proper, probably to make her light on her feet if she wanted to run. But now she slumped back against the seat. She felt sick but didn't want to voice anything. Why would Miss Larontir care anyway? Melenia just couldn't believe someone like that could care for anyone. "...What was in the box?" She spoke so quietly, as if the energy she had once had a second ago was never ever there.
"The one I apparently stole from you?..." She couldn't help but be curious. She hated she was being punished for a crime, 1 she didn't commit and, 2 she didn't even KNOW what it was she apparently stole! "And if i was never intended to be a Slave... what am i intended for?" She would rather know her fate then forever be waiting for it, looking over her shoulder and what not.

Saeryn wasn't quite as occupied by the sights of Nobaltica moving past the carriage's windows. She had seen this trip innumerable times. Little by little the squalor and downtrodden urban landscape fell away into the more wealthy districts of Nobalitica. The homes became more spaced out, walled off to ensure the common rabble wouldn't trouble the privileged or wealthy. Saeryn was more concentrated on Melena snapping at her with every oppertunity.
"...What was in the box? The one I apparently stole from you? And if i was never intended to be a Slave... what am i intended for?"
Saeryn actually smirked slightly, she was pleased to see that the girl wasn't attempting to lash out against her new owner. Saeryn's nerves also seemed to simmer down as well, she wasn't regretting her hasty decision. Saeryn thought for a moment before she spoke, both remember the night but more importantly what details that she should reveal to the girl, "The box, it was a signet. A symbol of authority of a trade house and me acquiring it was more or less a surrender to my own guild. It carried extreme symbolism to say the least." By now the carriage had turned, a pair of iron gates opening as it moved up a cobblestone through way. A pair of armed and armored guards stood at attention. Their full suit of plate armor crafted to be ascetically pleasing as well as protective, however their billhooks weren't quite as elegant, meant to keep an intruder at bay while they gutted their prey. The manor of Saeryn could be seen, from between pillars purple banners bearing the stylized skull emblem of the Larontir house, it was no mystery as to who this home belonged to. Some of the gardens behind the manor seemed to peak around the sides of the home. Framing the imposing home, seeming to reflect the dark and gothic tastes of it's owner.
The carriage came to a stop, a servant girl opened the carriage door for Saeryn. It was a different girl then the one from the tavern, but like her compatriot she didn't wear chains of any obvious bindings, instead she had wearing clothes that could easily pass for finery among the commoner class,. She offered her hand to Saeryn as she stepped from the carriage. She turned to Melenia who was still sitting inside, "As for my intent, I never wanted you dragged to this city in chains for whatever crime you may or may not have committed. However you had a price on your head, so as far as I'm concerned you have a new debt to pay to me." She looked to the other girl, "Karmina see to it that Melenia here is properly housed in the quarters and see to any of her needs that the market may have neglected." With that Saeryn turned her back to the girl, letting her servants take on the duty of properly integrating her into her new home.
