Name: Elf
Lifespan: 150+ (Variable depending on sub-race)
********
Appearance: Most elves are tall and lean, between six and seven feet, but there are also shorter elves as well, ranging around normal Human height. Elves generally have longer, pointed ears, whether the direction is up, down or any variation depends on the type of elf. What is most remarkable about the elves is their beauty. Though such a thing is usually in the eye of the beholder, Elves still tend to draw a lot of positive attention based on their appearance.
Traits: Tall, thin, and with pointed ears. Though Elves are a very old race: Dating all the way back to the very first age. Because of this, many Elves have evolved into several sub-races. Dark Elves tend to have more heavily toned colors for skin, hair and eye color. High Elves almost always have straight vertical ears and bronze-colored skin. The rarest of the Elven sub-species, the Dracomacers, are rumored to have dragon-like eyes, scales, and claws that set them apart from their cousins.
Abilities: As with their physical traits, so too do their abilities vary based on sub-race. Generally, all elves have the ability to use powerful, natural magic. Wood Elves tend to use magic that benefits nature as well as calls upon its power. Dark Elves tend to use curses or hexes, as well as magic that controls shadows and the night.
Source of Magic: Elves primary source of magic comes from their environment. They were gifted with the ability to tap into the world's supply of magical energy by the Dragons and have, sense then, retained the ability to use all forms of magic that spouts forth upon Azoria.
********
Religion: Usually varies depending upon Sub-race. The majority of Elves worship nature and the world around them, as they have been charged with protecting the magical forces that breathe life into the world. In a sense, Elves literally worship magic. There is also a sub-culture of Elves that still worship the God Dragons, even though they are no longer in a seat of power.
History: Since the First Age, Elves have always been a prominent figure in the world, however, once they left the side of their Creators in the Second Age to align themselves with the Dragons, many of the other races began to despise them. Now, several centuries later, the reason why Elves are so hated has long been forgotten, yet still, they are treated with the least amount of respect by all other races. Since the time Elves first walked the land, their magical energies have evolved with the flow of time, giving birth to different breeds of Elves. Racially, Evles are probably the most diverse.
Other Notes: Though all Elves have a natural affinity to magic, some elves, depending on their sub-race, and only use certain types of magic. Dark Elves, for instance, rarely use the same magic as High Elves, and vice-versa.
