The Coming of the Dragons into their world was, at first, displeasing to the Three Brothers. Amnitrix was appalled by their very existence and enraged at the fact that they stole the powers of the Gods. Zasmalsa supported his eldest brother's feeling of rage and took their coming of this world as an insult to the brothers. Enlil, however, with great wisdom, convinced his two brothers not to take action. As Gods they were merely watchers who only directly involved themselves when eminent chaos seemed present. Amnitrix held back his anger and agreed to only watch, but Zasmalsa was still fuming. Not only had the dragons stolen his power, but they were killing so many of his creations. On top of that, his two brothers did nothing to stop them.
All the younger God ever wanted was to gain the approval of his elders, but it seemed they never game him the chance. These dragons only served to further prod the wounded ego of his when they themselves ended the dispute between Humans, Elves, and Dwarves. Not only that, but the dragons completely reshaped the world created by Father Amnitrix. Zasmalsa was furious and sought council with the eldest, and did his very best to convince him that these dragons were no good, but Amnitrix did not listen. In fact, he was somewhat relieved that the Dragons were able to quell the battles and repair the earth. In a sense, they were doing the tired old God a favor, so he demanded Zasmalsa not interfere with their work.
The Dragons created magic, and used these mystical powers to further pollute the world created by father Amnitrix. This time, Zasmalsa consulted his middle brother, Enlil. He implored that they take action against this mutated form of spiritual power in order to restore balance, but wise Enlil insisted they only wait and watch.
The final straws were broken when the Elves, Zasmalsa's very own creation, left his worship and sided with the Dragons. He was absolutely heartbroken and infuriated. The Elves were one of his proudest creations. Once they aligned themselves with the Dwarves they were the perfect race and he loved them with all his Godly heart. For them to leave him for the Dragons was almost too much to bare. He knew he had to do something to fight against the Dragons, but without the support of his elder brothers, what could he possibly do against them? Things only seemed to get worse when the rest of his creations craved magic. At first, they seemed appeased by the Dragons for providing the power to them, but afterwards greed resurfaced in Man and Zasmalsa's children began a bloody war for control over all magic.
Again, he went to his brothers quick to blame the Dragons for causing this war, but again, he received no support. Instead, Father Amnitrix was infuriated with Zasmalsa instead. He was disgusted by the innate greed that seemed to be deeply embedded within Man's heart and blamed Zasmalsa for the entire situation. Now, feeling shunned by the very brothers he looked up to, Zasmalsa retreated from them and left their side. He descended upon the land and took mortal form, as he felt this was as far away from his brothers as he could get.
Now flesh and blood upon these lands, he sought out the Elves, his greatest creation, and asked them why they betrayed him. The Elves, from the terrible pain, fear, and loss they've experienced since their creation, rebuked their old god. They expressed deep hatred for him for all the terrible things that have transpired from when he was in control, and they banished him from ever setting foot in their territory again.
Torn by this, and rejected even by the very beings he created, Zasmalsa spent much time in darkness and despair. He fed from this darkness, as it was the only thing that held him close during the night. He grew darker as a result, and convinced himself that it was just his inexperience that has brought him such trouble. His past creations were flawed in so many ways; that was why they acted as they did. Fueled by rage, envy, and darkness, Zasmalsa, once again, began creating.
He formed creatures from the darkness that were as smart as the Elves, and as ferocious as wild animals. He took into account their disadvantage to the Elves, so he gave them the ability to steal their magical powers, as well as the ability to recreate themselves by using this cursed technique. He also made sure that they too would follow his teachings and have a binding connection to him. These creatures became Vampires. They stalked through the night and terrorized the Elves; slaughtering them and drinking their blood. The Vampires gained incredible power from feasting on the magical race, but eventually the Dragons caught on to this. They sent their emissaries and servants, the Behemoths, to defend the Elves, but Zasmalsa would not allow his newest creations to be destroyed so easily.
He created another race of plague and infection; a savage race that would be even quicker, and even more ferocious than the Vampires; a race that would blend in with the creatures that the Dragons served, yet could still do the bidding of Zasmalsa. He created Werewolves, and their target was Humankind.
The Werewolves, blended in especially well with the common wolves of the land. For the most part, they went undetected by the Dragons and Behemoths. The Werewolves were able to terrorize the early Humans without mercy, as well as create even more of their own through these brutal attacks. With the creation of these two super predators, Zasmalsa could take vengeance on his two most hated creations, and simultaneously, build a strong army of his own to fight against the Dragons.
Consumed with his own power and hatred, Zasmalsa even began to use the poor, innocent creatures to create even more races. He twisted them in to horrendous shapes and sizes. He made the creatures terrifying, savage, and bloodthirsty. He filled them with hate and anger, as well as gave them extremely destructive powers. These creatures were severe deviations from nature. They were unnatural in every way. They were Monsters.
These monsters terrorized both Man and Creature. They were satisfied by nothing and even fought among themselves when territory and resources became an issue. Things for Zasmalsa, however, quickly got out of hand. Along with this terrible war over magic, the sudden uprising in these new races left balance terribly skewed. Destruction reigned and enough blood was shed to color the world’s oceans red.
Enlil and Amnitrix realized that their younger brother had to be punished for his treachery. Through their combined power, they constructed a plane of existence separate from the realm of man and that of the Gods. They placed this realm deep below the world’s crust and banished their younger brother to this dark abyss. They called this realm the Underworld, and locked it away for all eternity.
Here, Zasmalsa allowed his darkness to fester and grow. His hatred for his brothers, the dragons, and essentially all life fueled him with enough power to create on more race. He molded shadows and darkness into physical shape. He filled these shadows with all his hate, his anger, his rage, his envy, his jealousy, his greed, and his pain. He fueled these creatures with an endless urge to cause pain and suffering to all those who wronged their creator, and gave them the deadly tools to do so. Zasmalsa had created Demons.
At first, demons were very few and only had each other to express their rage upon, however, with some direction from Zasmalsa, and the help of his vampire cultists, the God of the Underworld was able to create a bridge to the mortal plane. From this bride, Demons fled out like ants from their hill in search of living beings to terrorize. Against the Gods, Dragons, and Behemoths, however, the Demons were being wiped out and sent back into their darkness.
Zasmalsa was running low on spiritual energy, and hadn’t enough to create new demons, but he quickly came to realize that his greatest source of energy still remained in his children. Whenever there was the death of Man, Zasmalsa would send his demons to collect the souls of the deseased and bring them back to the underworld. There, he would use their soul’s essence to replenish himself and, in turn, allow him to create even more powerful demons then ever before. Between war and death on the mortal plane, Zasmalsa was generating more power than he ever imagined. He grew mad with power and hungry for more. He created Plague and Disease to increase fatality rates among the living so that his harvesters could gather more souls.
Eventually, with extremely few souls returning to the God’s plane, the world began to weaken. Both the Gods and the Dragons felt the incredible waning force of the dying world, and but Enlil was the one who came up with a solution. The God of balance created a Forth realm for the souls and spirits of the dead. This was known as the Spiritual Plane, and it was designed to house the dead and keep them away from demons until their energy could be recycled back into the world.
At first, this new realm was a success since no living beings could enter it, but then Zasmalsa’s creativity and wit lead him to yet another plot. Instead of attempting to send his own living demons into this realm, he thought it would be incredibly ironic if the souls that were already there became his own personal servants.
Using lies, treachery, and deceit, Zasmalsa and his demons gave the living a promise of eternal life and extraordinary power through that of Sin. All they had to do was, in life, follow the ways of Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Anger, Greed, and Sloth. Through the promise of enjoying these seven sins in life, Zasmalsa would then allow them to continue indulging in Sin even after death. This created terribly dark souls within the living and, in Death, these heavy souls terrorized the spiritual realm and corrupted the pure spirits that awaited tranquility.
Through this, Zasmalsa could have these dark souls literally drag others into the Underworld for him, where he would use their powers to further increase his own. That is, until the Dragons once again stepped in. Using their most loyal of guards the Dragons gave the Behemoths the ability to traverse Enlil’s Spirit Realm. By way of creating a Stone Form to preserve their physical bodies, Behemoths were able to protect their spirits into the Spiritual Realm and protect the pure souls from the Dark Souls.
It was then, when the Dragons began interfering in his plans, did he realize who his true enemy was. With the immense power Zasmalsa gathered, he began work on his greatest creation: one that would surely serve to change the entire world. He created his own Dragons. He created terrifying Black Dragons, undead skeletal dragons, and massive dragon-like creatures that would rival even the originals. He unleashed these terrible creatures on to the world under the guise of actual Dragons.
Using his own created Dragons, he was able to frame the actual Dragon Gods for causing immense chaos and utter destruction throughout the world. The only way one could distinguished these manufactured Dragons from the natural Dragons was their ability to use magic. Zasmalsa’s Dragons could not use magic, nor could they use the spiritual and magical powers of this world. They were nothing more than vicious and ferocious monsters of eminent destruction.
In the confusing, these Dragons were also able to pervert many Behemoths as well, turning them feral and equally as destructive. In this chaos, Zasmalsa was able to appeal to his elder brothers and accuse the God Dragons of treachery against the world. He told them that if the dragons remained, this world would be torn to pieces by their destructive powers. With nowhere to turn, and the eminent demise of the world at hand, his two elder brothers begrudgingly accepted his claim.
The God Wars had begun.
